Year 7 and 8 Killarney Falls Trip

Monday, April 13, 2020

In mid-March, ten Year 7 and 8 students spent the day exploring Queen Mary and Brown’s Falls, they were accompanied by Mrs Ronda Mattarollo, Mrs Christina Butterworth and Mr Ray Licence.

After arriving at Queen Mary Falls, the students went for a walk around the Falls walking track. The students were keen to explore the rocky area under the cliff and were able to be both adventurous and sensibly cautious when doing this. Back at the picnic grounds the students had lunch, sausages with bread and some salad, before driving down to the Brown’s Falls picnic area. The students then walked up the creek to have a look at Brown’s Falls. The rock formations in the cliffs at the falls featured large basalt columns and they provide an interesting back drop for these stunning falls. On their return to the picnic area the students were excited about the treasure hunt Mrs Mattarollo had prepared for them, finding some chocolate bars hidden around the picnic ground.

Everyone had a wonderful day.
