Monday, November 09, 2015

The Questacon Science Circus visited Warwick recently and gave two presentations in the school auditorium, one in the morning for the primary students, followed by a presentation for the secondary students in the afternoon.

The shows are designed to stimulate and challenge students to explore the science and technology aspects of everyday life.

The first half of the afternoon session explored topics such as bubbles, the effects of air pressure, including a bottle rocket propelled by compressed air. The second half of the show looked at the effect of cooling objects such as balloons in liquid nitrogen.

Two graduate science students from the Australian National University hosted the show and gave a very interesting and informative presentation that was enjoyed by all the students and staff.
