Primary Children’s Nature Art Exhibition
Thursday, July 26, 2018
During 2017 Primary Interest Groups on Friday afternoons, students from Grade 2-6 participated in creating Nature Art. The children were inspired by extraordinary, innovative British artist Andy Goldsworthy who creates personal and intense artworks in collaboration with nature, and records his work in superb colour photographs, before they disappear.
Children worked in teams and individually, using a wide range of materials to form their sculptures – stones, bark, dry and fresh leaves, feathers, twigs, sticks, sand, branches, blossoms, and berries – with assistance from artist-in-residence, Chris Hume and in collaboration with teacher, Sophia Lightfoot.
The framed and unframed colour prints of the children’s beautiful artwork were on display and available for purchase in the foyer of the auditorium during the last combined parents' meeting on Friday 1 June 2018. If you missed the exhibition and would like to purchase a piece of artwork please contact the office.
