Musica Viva Performance

Monday, November 07, 2016

Last Monday morning students, teachers and school community members were treated to a musical feast presented by Musica Viva. The chamber music quartet Entourage delighted the audience with songs written by poet Svyetlana Hadgraft set to music by Paul Kopetz. The ensemble, based in Brisbane, performed songs inspired by the Australian backyard and about creatures such as the cicada, fireants, lorikeets as well as the poinciana tree. These accomplished and entertaining musicians brought these songs to life through singing and through their instruments, including the clarinet, cello and piano. The concert was a wonderful way to make a start to the week and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
