Grade 1 and 2 Outdoor Education

Thursday, August 16, 2018

The Grade 1 and 2 class completed their Outdoor Education sessions with Mr Licence last term, accompanied by Ms Namour, and French language assistant Lou Hadjad, from Marseilles. In their first session, Mr Licence took the students to the Outdoor Education Centre at Upper Freestone. The children walked around the old orchard looking for interesting plants and signs of the animals that live in the area. A fox was spotted as the children arrived, but no other animals were seen. Mr Licence explained the significance of the tracks and traces that were discovered. The children completed the session at the creek, exploring the waterholes and the creek bed. They enjoyed the outing and were keen to continue exploring along Freestone Creek in the following weeks.
